It is true that 2 heads are better than one and the more hands will make the work easier. For a baby shower idea, it would help if you’ll get ideas from other mothers how their baby showers went through. It is also better to get some help in terms of decorating the place to make it easier. It will be a hassle free baby shower.

One of the baby shower crafts we did at ours was have every girl there pick a piece of paper out of a hat, 2 of the 40 entries were a winner, made it exciting, not really a craft but a way to spice up the baby shower !

Plan your party around the baby’s expected due date. Use seasonal decorations for Spring, Summer, Winter, or Fall or any holidays that may fall near the date.

Decorations and invitations would also reflect the season in which the baby is due. A food idea would be birthday cake, marked with the baby’s name(s) if the parents already know this detail A celebration of the entire family and their heritage. You’d want to make sure that some family members of the parents-to-be (especially the grandparents-to-be) could attend.

You’ll also need to contact them for information (a family tree for example.) The invitations could be decorated with a family tree on the outside cover. It could be blown up as a poster and displayed on the wall or front door for decoration.

A baby shower is the best way to celebrate the birthday of a new born baby which is considered to be the happiest moment in the life of not only the family members but to friends and relatives also. If it’s your babies naming ceremony or it’s your baby’s first birthday celebration you can go for Invitations Baby Shower party themes. Contrary to the celebration of the birthday invitations, baby shower party invitations are quite informal and focus upon comforting the parents and the baby.

Having past this point in my life, I can now say that I believe we would have benefited from gifts that were geared for the toddler rather than those first few months. Another great option, that my family did, was establish a savings fund and all guest donated into the fund. Now this is a serious gift and one that becomes worthwhile in the future, believe me.

There can be so many gift ideas for a baby shower. Crafts are a great option because it’s more personalized. My wife has been doing this for years and the mother-to-be really appropriates the thought and effort. Of course there can be bad decisions, but just do a little research and everything should turn out fine.

Baby shower crafts that takes a little bit of planning but makes a fabulous sentimental gift is a handprint quilt. You will need to precut quilt squares to do this. Choose fabric and style to match the mother’s nursery décor. Make sure you have enough squares – one for each guest.

For my shower, my girlfriend had magnets made with “Donna’s Baby Shower” and the date stamped on them. It was a nice favor, and a year later I still see them used on friends’ and family’s refrigerators! It’s a memory and a useful item.

  18. Barb says:

For my daughters baby shower I made bookmarks for the invitations. I put baby sesame street characters on it with the date time and all that and also a saying that went like this: I want to be a bright child, as smart as I can be. This is why I’m hoping everyone will read to me. If you plan to bring a card, Please take another look, I would like to learn my letters from you favorite storybook. I tied a plastic pacifer on the end of the ribbon.

Throwing a baby shower party means a lot of fun, frolic, laughter, and good cheer! All this is incomplete without a good round of games for all those at the party. In recent times new parents focus more on having a party which has more participation and involvement of guests rather than making it ‘gift-centric’. Playing exciting and funny games will make the shower party much livelier and the day would be etched in the hearts of all those present for a long time.

  22. Jim says:

When looking for the right baby shower games, it’s important that you have the chosen games related to some baby names of the children in attendance. This may prove to be a taught task but you can manage it. It’s important that you be gender sensitive and also chooses the right games that will provide all the children with meaningful pastime activity. Baby shower games should not consume a lot of your financial resources. You actually can get some real nice games from then internet at no cost attached. If selected well, the games can make the day very complete. You must also come up with the right baby names to suit the occasion. A lot of care should be taken into consideration when making the selection.

At my baby shower for my second child, my friends brought along their ow kids to keep my eldest daughter company. The kids participated 100% during the party. We even held a milk drinking contest where each toddler sped through a glass of milk for a prize. (We were all trying to wean our kids from the bottle, so the game was such a welcome treat for us moms!).

  34. My friends threw a surprise baby shower for me when I was in my 7th month. It was fun what with friends nd family gathered round. But what made the day extra special was the “love necklace” that we made for me. Each person was asked to bring along something, anything — a bead, a seashell, a pebble — as long as it can be strung into the necklace’s thread. He/she then made a small pledge of love/speech/statement/whatever, really, before he/she attached it to the necklace. My necklace ended up dangling to my waist, but it is one of the most precious things I own. Until today, I still know which bead/shell/pebble came from whom and what that person’s message for me was that day.

  35. Angie says:

For first-time moms, I highly suggest going into a registry for your baby shower. Not only can this guarantee you the chance to receive items which you really need and like, but you could also avoid duplicates and clutter (aka items which are pretty much useless — or unattractive — for you) through such a system.

  36. I just had my first baby shower last month! My husband and I opted not to know of the baby’ s gender throughout my pregnancy so that the big day will indeed be full of pleasant surprises. Thus, I got a lot of onesies, mittens and booties in whites, yellows and oranges. Can’t wait to finally meet my li’l bun!

  37. Baby showers in our family always end up as major reunions. After all, what better excuse can you come up with to get together and pig out than the anticipation of another family member? I love how our family is so closely knit that celebrations such as these are still so special regardless of how often they occur. :)
