Baby showers used to be an American tradition, but it has now become popular all over the world. Besides decorations, you can prepare games for guests to play. It doesn’t have to be a solely gift presenting fare, and there are many ways like the ones highlighted in the article to make a baby shower fun too. Just remember to bring the camera along too.

I prefer simple and cheap decorations. The best thing is to recycle what we have and turn it into something beautiful. All it takes is creativity. I once recycled my own secretary desk with hutch because I can't afford to throw it away. And to save money and effort, we can always call a friend or relatives to help with the baby showers.

I remember one baby shower souvenir I got was a small towel rolled up into a mini bunny. It was inexpensive yet impressionable.

Baby shower decorations can really make or break the atmosphere at a baby shower. They are meant to be fun and lively. I threw a baby shower for my friend and I made pacifiers. I took the mint flavored lifesavers and jelly beans. You take one of the lifesavers and put it sideways take some white frosting and add the second lifesaver the opposite direction. put on a little more frosting and add the jelly bean it looks just like a pacifier. I tied a ribbon to the bottom lifesaver. Everyone loved them, and they were cheap!

Great point Mike. This actually happened in my family. My cousin was 3 weeks early and they had to postpone her shower. It was pretty crazy because she needed many of the things that people were giving as gifts and didn’t receive them until the baby was 10 days old. On another note, my wife always uses this blog for helpful tips, keep up the great work!

Decorations do not need to be fancy nor traditional if they do not suit the guests’ personality. Your baby shower decoration ideas should reflect the personality of your friends and mom-to-be. Do not feel confined by the way that others have hosted baby showers, this is an opportunity for you to use your imagination and show your creativity.

Be sure to schedule the shower for at least 6 weeks before the baby’s due date. Babies don’t always arrive when expected and you want to be sure that Mommy will be able to attend! Rule of thumb: The larger the gathering, the simpler the decorations should be.

We are planning to have the baby showers in an open area unfortunately and won’t be able to hang any miniature parasols from the ceiling. But the idea is pretty good and worth to share it with my friends.

When you are setting up the decorations, I strongly recommend putting up as much as you can the night before the baby shower. The actual day is very busy, and it can become a scramble to get things done. There will be things that you can’t put up until the day of the shower, but having most of it done the previous evening will take a lot of stress out of the actual day.
