My wife has only hosted one shower and she really went overboard for her sister. I'm rather embarrassed to say how much the whole thing ended up costing, but at least everyone was happy and grateful for the costs and effort. She said that she learned her lesson and next time there will be a different strategy. So thanks for all the great information, we'll need it. Cathy has the right idea here. If you are planning on hosting a baby shower, it's better to get some help or do some research before hand. Showers can be expensive. It's best to spend your funds in an informed manner. With a guide out there like this one(a free one I might add), there is no excuse not to be prepared to offer the proud parents to be, a fun and relaxing day they will remember for a lifetime.
