There are a number of factors involved when deciding where to hold your baby shower. And of course the main factor for most is cost!

Different baby shower venues can vary in price dramatically. Baby Showers are often held at home to keep the cost down. A reason for choosing an out of home venue would be due to a space factor and how many guests are being invited. Thus a guest list should be made first to determine how many people are being invited.

For a small number of people an in home venue is suited, you can choose a theme and decorate from there. This will dramatically reduce the cost of hosting the baby shower.

When you choose a hired venue you have to check to see what decorations you can use in the venue. Restaurants can be a little choosy and you may only be able to use table decorations.

For a no cost venue for a larger number of people, a park could be a fantastic alternative.

A teddy bear’s picnic could be a theme or you could even theme the baby shower as a garden tea party.

For an outdoor baby shower you should always have a wet weather alternative. Maybe a friend is willing to allow you to use a veranda or an entertainment room. Most people are willing to do this knowing that it is an alternative to another venue.

Other venue options are community halls, here you can usually decorate to your hearts content but you must clean up straight after the venue and the hall is usually hired for a certain number of hours. So if you have lingering guests this can become uncomfortable asking them to leave otherwise you can stipulate a set time on your invitations for example 1:30pm to 4 pm. Then allow yourself extra time to clean up.

Restaurants are another option, here all you really have to do is some table decorations and everything else is done for you.

For the total walk in and sit down and be waited on, some hotels will cater and decorate the whole event for you at a cost.

But it all comes down to budget. Don’t forget that the more personalized the event the more memorable it will be memories do not always relate to how much money was spent. And most of all the day is about relaxing the parents to be not the look of the baby shower.
