Planning a Dreamy Blue Baby Shower

Blue is a wondrous color for you to have a boy baby shower.

Traditionally known as a color identified with boys, it also transmits calm, serenity and peace. Certain shades of blue bring out feelings of joy such as bright turquoise blue. Since you’re celebrating life and the arrival of a boy, why not base your party on different tones of blue?

If you’re planning a frog baby shower, you can also add light green as an accent color.

Let’s take a look at 3 aspects of planning your lovely blue baby shower event: the guests’ tables, the sweets’ table, and some favor ideas.

Decorating Your Blue Themed Guests Tables

Guests will be delightedGuests Tables when they sit at the tables and discover all the effort that went into providing them a lovely environment. There are a variety of different ways to add blue into your decór. When I planned my nephew’s finding nemo birthday party, blue was a main color along with many other colors.

However if you’re going for a ‘lighter’ feel to the party, you’ll want to restrict the amount of accent colors and stick to white tablecloths as the basis for the guests tables.

Each guest can have a light blue place-mat with their silverware and a blue glass plate on top. Use white napkins and green and blue shiny pearl bracelets (the type that makes several rounds) as napkin holders.

There are many different kinds of flowers you can use and I suggest finding out what the expectant mom likes best before deciding. Some blue flower ideas for you are: orchids, tulips, roses, irises, and hydrangeas. Fill a glass vase with some shiny blue stones to place the flowers in. Surround your flower centerpiece with tiny white candles.

Another cool idea is to have the ‘mom and dad to be’ take a professional picture of themselves and use it on the guests’ tables to decorate. I did this with a picture of my nephew when I planned a hot wheels birthday party for him. Purchase glass photo frames and place the photographs in there.

Then place the photo frame in front of the flower arrangement. Here are more baby shower centerpiece ideas for your shower.

Ideas for Your Blue Sweets Tables

Blue Sweets TablePlace your flowers in a large light blue porcelain pitcher at the end of your sweets table. For variety, add white flowers in the midst of blue flowers.

Try to only have white, cream and blue colored sweets on the table so that the colors don’t clash. If you would like to serve a hot dessert then you’ll love this pear with chocolate dessert recipe.

Arrange blue shot glasses with vanilla pudding onto a circular tray. Instead of making a cake, prepare a batch of cupcakes and frosting that is made out of cream cheese butter cream.

Use blue food coloring in the frosting and organize them onto 2 tiered rectangular silver trays. Prepare white candied apples on sticks and tie turquoise blue ribbons on each one.

Other sweets you can prepare are white chocolate covered pretzels, white chocolate covered oreo sweets, marshmallows on skewers dipped in white chocolate, chocolate truffles, and yummy coconut cookies. Don’t forget to check out these menu planning ideas for your shower.

Blue Favor Ideas

Blue Favor IdeasThe blue sky’s the limit when it comes to ideas for blue baby shower favors :-) . An easy way to figure out which favor’s the best, is to look at each idea and ‘feel’ which one resonates with you.

When I planned a Disney cars birthday party for my son, I decided that I wanted to have several different types of favors… not just one. So I had one type of favor for the men, another for the women and another for the children.

Of course this requires more planning, but it’s also fun to have a variety.

If you don’t have a lot of time but want an elegant favor, then fill a white sheer mini sack with blue and white bubble bath salts and then place it into a white lace minibag and tie with a turquoise bow.

The best favors are easy to make, affordable and elegant. Here are more ideas for you: candles in the shape of white and blue bottles, blue pacifier and baby booties shaped cookies, flowers carved out of blue glycerin soap, and aqua blue boxes filled with candy or mints and tied with a satin bow on top.

These will also look great with a winter themed baby shower.
