Planning Your Twin Baby Shower

giraffes for twin baby showerPreparing for a twin baby shower doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

In fact, it can be twice as much fun! With a little planning and organization you can tie the twin aspect into your entire party. A great thing to do is to choose a saying that can be used in several parts of the event such as the invitations, the banner decorative or even the cake.

Here are a few ideas for you: My Two Passions, Double Blessings, Twins Win, Twinning It, or for a funnier saying use Double Trouble.

These are just a few ideas. You can come up with your own too. In this article we’ll concentrate on choosing the theme, decorating your event, and the games that you’ll play.

Choosing Your Theme

There are many ways to make it easy to combine having twins with the theme. For example, if you’re throwing a Noah’s ark baby shower, you can have the animals “two by two” be a part of the decorations, invitations, and even the food.

Two peas in a pod is another famous choice for twins. But the fact is that you can make any theme work with twins just by making doubles. If you have a general baby theme, decorate with double pacifiers, bottles, diaper pins, and baby faces. If the babies are boy and girl the best two colors to combine are pink and blue. Of course you’re free to use any color scheme that you want to.

If you haven’t picked out your theme yet, here are some cool articles about baby shower themes that will help you decide.

Once you have your theme chosen, you can begin planning the rest of the event. By the way here is a great timeline planning article that will help you in figuring out if you’re on schedule.

Decorating Your Twin Baby Shower

beautiful pink diaper cakeThere are lots of fun and creative ideas to decorate your twin baby shower. Purchase some large cardboard cutouts and tape them to the wall using crepe tape (so that the wall paint won’t peel off).

Whatever theme you’re using, buy two of each decorative and arrange them next to each other. Place them on doors, walls, and behind the foods’ tables.

For guests’ tables you can have a pair of helium balloons tied to a flower arrangement in the center. Always use pairs of everything.
You can also create a beautiful diaper cake.

There are many reasons to make a diaper cake: guests always appreciate the creativity of a diaper cake and the expectant mommy will love the fact that it’s useful. Place your diaper cake in the center of the gifts’ table or one of the foods’ tables.

Twin Baby Shower Game Ideas

A great game to play at a twin shower is the two legged race. This consists of guests teaming up as partners and tying one of their legs to each other. The first team to cross the finish line wins. It’s a really fun game and requires team work.

The concept of tying legs together can be used in other games as well such as musical chairs. The chairs can also be tied together. The last team standing wins.
In the same way you can have a treasure hunt with several prizes matching your baby shower theme. The catch would be that guests would have to go treasure hunting with their legs tied together.

If you’re throwing any kind of animal themed baby shower, you can always play the baby animal name game. Each player has to write out the baby name for each animal shown on the list. It’s a really fun game that even children can play.

Another fun thing to do is to play twin charades. Two people get together and act out the word that they want their team to guess. Having two people act it out at once makes it an even funnier game.

The most important thing to remember when you’re planning a twin baby shower is to use your imagination and have fun!

Walking with tied legs is a very fun game but not in winter for my place. The name games are classical but at least we can play it at home. I also like your decoration ideas for twins.
