When planning a baby shower or even a kids birthday party, there are many things we can do to make it different from the average event.
Paying attention to certain details and implementing cool ideas will make your celebration a special one.
Do You Want To Host A Unique Baby Shower Party
Here in this article I’ll be giving you 4 ideas that will make your baby shower party unique.
1- Baby Blocks Decor for a Cute Baby Shower
Decorate the top of a buffet table with white baby blocks spelling out ‘Welcome Baby’. For more impact, create an elevation out of cardboard boxes and cover this with white or pink paper.
This ‘elevation’ will work better if the table is next to a wall. Place the baby blocks in the right order and add cute teddy bears that match the color choice of your shower before and after the saying.
If you’ve decided on throwing a Noah’s ark baby shower, you can also use animal blocks together with the ABC blocks. If you’re throwing a birthday party, then you can use regular toy alphabet blocks in the main colors or red, blue, yellow and green.
It would be better to have the blocks higher than the food trays making them easier to see and creating more of an impact on the overall decór.
2- Using Photo and Place Card Holders to Adorn Your Tables
Another innovative way to decorate your tables is to use different kinds of photo or place card holders to embellish them. Cut out several colored paper decoratives in the theme that you’ve chosen using templates. Use glitter, tiny bows, silver pearls and several other craft items to adorn the paper decorative. Then place them in the photo or place card holders.
The great thing about this decorative is that you can do it with several different theme ideas.
For example; if you’re throwing a winter baby shower you can have snowflakes as the base of the place card holder. If you’re planning on having a hotwheels birthday party, you can use race cars for the base of the decór.
The variations are endless since you’ll find all sorts of holders from the simplest designs to the more elaborate ones. Some come in swirls, others in hearts, butterflies, and even flip flops can be used. Find the type that will combine well with your festive event. Place these decoratives on top of the foods’ tables in between trays.
3- Create a Fun Kids’ Space at Your Shower
If you’re having little children at the baby shower, you can set up a part of the event for them to be able to do craft activities. There are a lot of cool activities that you can include, depending on the theme of your party.
For example; you can have kids make Indian headbands with feathers or even masks. Kids love dressing up so uniting both the crafts with something they can use will be a lot of fun for them. Here’s a link to several resources where you can find free printable masks created by the children’s’ book author Jan Brett.
Another idea is for each child to have a place-mat and a printable doll that they will need to ‘dress up’. The doll can be whatever theme you have chosen for the event. For example you can buy Backyardigans party supplies if you’re going to be using that theme and mix and match several items in the craft table.
Use glitter glue, buttons, ric racs, stickers, different pieces of cloth, and even paper clothing and make them available in the center of the table.
They can use their creativity to dress their doll. Make sure that the scissors aren’t pointy though.
When they’re done decorating the doll, they can tape a popsicle stick on the back of it. The great thing is that the kids can play together with the dolls they just made, transforming this into a fun bonding activity too.
If you feel that planning all of this is a bit overwhelming, don’t worry. Take things one step at a time. Here’s a timeline for a baby shower to help you out.
4- Boxes Can be Many Things
Many times, when decorating a baby shower, we need to think ‘outside of the box’ so to speak. Every day items can be ‘multipurposed’ for your big event. Speaking of boxes, have you thought about using round hat boxes and shoeboxes in the décor?
Prints such as polka dots, stripes, heart patterns, and gingham will look good in any style of shower that you’re having. So you can either buy the boxes covered in these prints or cover them yourself.
Fill them up with flower arrangements, healthy party food, or even just cookies, candies, favors, or items that you’ll need for game time.
I really hope you enjoyed these 4 unique baby shower ideas.
